Forming part of the gateway into the development, QUAD studio took the existing undulating shape of the textile factory roof and turned it into an iconic symbol representing the whole cultural district.
By simplifying and extending the profile of the roof, the Gallery takes on a contemporary genre that compliments the contextual heritage of the existing factory development from 1958.
During the day, the clean vertical lines on the façade accentuate and enhances the profile of the roof.
Large glazing panels not only reflects the colonnade of trees in front of the gallery, it also shows the gallery space and the renovated textile factory space beyond.
At night, the roof profile is accentuated like a pulse of light the that extends across the whole length of the gallery
