ONEIROPHERENIA – The Future Kaleidoscope
Vertigo the HK Installation
In December 2019, QUAD studio was commissioned by UABBHK to create and art installation of their 2019 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture at the Mills.
The theme 2X2: Imagine to Innovate Based on this underlaying theme, we took our inspiration from a title of a book by Philip K Dick, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”. Imagine what if androids can dream, what will they dream about? What if we can peer into the mind of an android? What will we see?
With the installation we built a translucent box with a reflective inner layer where we all can peer into a fantasy world a not too distant utopian future. A simulation of an android in a dream state. A reflective inner layer multiplies the it’s vision to a boundless infinity.
We call this Future Kaleidoscope – Vertigo as it is hung inside a stair void in the mills.
