Renaissance

Renaissance was a period in European History marking the transition from the middle ages to modernity. They believe that "Man is a measure of all things" and this new thinking became manifest in art, architecture, politics, science and literature. Embodying a basic tenet of Renaissance humanism that humans are limitless in their capacity for development and the Renaissance Man sought to develop this abilities in all areas.

Today, QUAD studio believes there is a resurgence of the Renaissance where people want more from architects than just architecture. Like the period of the renaissance, they are in search of a holistic design narrative that allows designers to blur the lines between different design disciplines, hence, giving birth to the Collective Polymath.

QUAD Studio

At QUAD studio, we also believe that innovation also comes from cutting edge technology. The future is what we design it to be and technology breakthroughs will ultimately change the way we design and shape our cities. We treat our studio as a LAB for EXPLORATION, a place to experiment different design possibilities, therefore, from time to time we invite designers and artists from around the world to share and bounce their innovative ideas.

Striving to be Global and Local

Our beliefs allow us straddle on the fine lines between being Global and Local. With design studios in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Chengdu, we create a platform for innovation where a group of individuals with wide creative knowledge can engage in Social Intervention.

Our studios thrive on this notion of a Collective Polymath. Hong Kong as a Cosmopolitan City with a diverse multinational creative design hub that allows our studio collaborate with the international design community. As designers, we have the ability to change people’s lives by creating a holistic narrative design based on principles for dogma to be carried out in context what ever that may be.

With the Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Chengdu studios combined; we are able to have Global Ideas developed in a Cosmopolitan City combined with Local Technological Innovation the next level thinking towards Ecologically-Conscious Planning.

City Dialogues

Also, as designers, we enjoy pushing the boundaries of innovation. Shenzhen is the Tech Capital of China and is on the forefront of Science, Technology, Ecology and Innovation. Our Shenzhen Studio is in the heart of this technology hub in Qianhai and allow our designers to be in the epicentre of innovation. Our Chengdu Studio on the other hand is situated in the Jinjiang District in the Heart of Chengdu. Chengdu being the Park City where the city leaders are looking to take ecologically-conscious planning to a new level. This gives our studio an opportunity to explore the synergy between Digital Technology and Innovative Environmental Sustainability.
