Background

Derek is a registered Architect in HK and the UK. He studied Architecture at the University of Manchester UK, then went on to complete his professional qualifications with RIBA (UK Northwest Region), and later on in Hong Kong in 2012. He has over 20 years’ experience working as an Architect in UK, HK and PRC.

Values

In previous projects - he had contributed in different Project stages from concept design to detailed design to contract administration. He has helped clients in transforming their vision into reality, in managing the project cost efficiency, in optimizing detailed design through collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams, adding value to the final design and product.

He believes in Simplicity and the Human touch - no matter how complex the programme or requirement maybe, a simple, direct clarity of expression is often the best way forward; and consideration of the human touch often gives the final mark of quality. He is always happy to help, and is proud to have contributed to many works of high-quality design and many more to come.
Diversity
Derek has experience working in projects of different scales and of diverse nature - from small private houses, medium retail / commercial development, to large infrastructure project and cultural facilities, including a cross border high speed rail terminus, a cable car terminus and a Multi-Venue theatre complex. His clients have included private individuals to institutional to commercial in nature.
