The QUAD one Adaptive Furniture The QUAD One Adaptive FurnitureThe QUAD one was born out of necessity. When we started QUAD studio, we only had a small office measuring 2.4M by 4.2M net. At that time, we needed a space to think and because we used the wall for brainstorming ideas, we left little space for even a desk. The meeting desk had to be adjustable with the ability to house all standard office equipment such as a printer, scanner, fax machine as well as a projector. As a result, the meeting table not only function as a desk, it folded up when we need space to discuss ideas on the wall.A lot of R&D was used to design the folding mechanism. Eventually we used a folding spring hinge used for folding beds. All the wiring has to be contained inside and seamlessly connects to the electric sockets underneath the raised floor.This adaptive furniture was drafted up and manufactured in Guangzhou, the parts were then shipped to Hong Kong in components and installed on site. The QUAD one turned out to be very useful during the fitting out period of our Hong Kong office.QUAD studio eventually moved into our Hong Kong office in November and now the QUAD one is an integral part of our small conference room.
