QUAD Infrastructure is major design sector of QUAD studio and is proud of being a part of the Design Team for two MTR stations; Hung Shui Kiu (HSK) and Tung Chung East (TCE).
MTR Hung Shui Kiu Station (HSK)
Location: Hung Shui Kiu, HK, China

Preliminary and Reference Design Stage: QUAD studio

QUAD, in collaboration with MAKE and as core sub-consultant of AWJV (Aurecon WSP Joint Venture) has progressed from Preliminary Design to Reference Design stage and continues our leading role in detailed station planning, architecture and landscape for HSK (Hung Shui Kiu) project.
HSK is a new station situated in the operating Tuen Ma Line between Siu Hong and Tin Shui Wai. Being strategically situated in the heart of the Hung Shui Kiu/ Ha Tsuen NDA, HSK Station will play a key part to energies our Northern Metropolis Development Strategy. Lots of Green and Sustainable design elements has been achieved during different design stages and this environmentally friendly station will be opened in 2030.
HSK is envisaged as an above-ground two-level station with entrances in connection with future Regional Plaza and nearby developments. To align with HK government vision to achieve Zero-carbon Emission before 2050, HSK is designed to be natural ventilated with application of High Volume Low Speed fans and equipped with Photovoltaic panels on roof for solar energy harvesting. The external areas of the station will have a greening design which is aesthetically pleasing and reducing the station temperature efficiently.
MTR Tung Chung East Station (TUE)

At Tung Chung East Station, QUAD studio, are core sub-consultant of Paul Y CRCC Joint Venture has progressed from Detail Design to Construction stage. situated in the operating Tung Chung Line between Sunny Bay Station and Tung Chung Station. The new station is serving as a gateway to the Tung Chung East reclamation area which will house a future population of 184,000. This new station will bring ample of natural light to enhance the interior spatial quality. The two footbridges are serving station entrances seamlessly connection the station the future property development. TCE is currently under construction and the Station will be opened in 2028.
The Station straddles between the North Lantau Country Park and the Tung Chung Extension Area. It is strategically positioned as the focal point at the beginning of the Green Spine in front of the Metro Public Plaza that leads the public all the way towards the promenade and the Marina.
Being on the main axis, we took this opportunity to enhance the user experience for passengers enter the concourse level. By framing the Nature to the south with the North Lantau Country Park and the Future Tung Chung East development to the North, the “Picture Frame” becomes the main focus for the station becoming the “Welcoming Gateway” for people visiting the Tung Chung East Station.
As with our HSK station, we are committed to overcome any project constraints and site difficulties with our expertise in innovative station design, proactive multi-disciplinary coordination and experience in statutory compliance, material technology and BIM modelling in order to deliver a welcoming, user-friendly and sustainable metro station to public. Together with full team of AWJV, we will work along with MTR’s Capital Works team, as well as cooperate with government departments and other stakeholders to ensure the station design fulfil key stakeholders' requirements.
