
Hong Kong, 15 June 2026 — The RIBA Hong Kong Chapter hosted the RIBA Fellows’ Forum, bringing together leading architectural professionals to discuss practice, leadership, and the future of the discipline.

The event featured keynote presentations by Keith Griffiths and Wai Tang, alongside a panel discussion moderated by Angeliki Koliomichou with Ruffina Thilakartne and Nelson Chen.
Keith Griffiths presented “Connected and Porous Low Energy Cities,” addressing sustainable urban strategies, while Wai Tang delivered “Vitruvian Rhapsody,” reflecting on his professional journey towards RIBA Fellowship. His presentation highlighted the role of mentorship, collaborative practice, and the development of “The Collective Polymath.”

During the panel discussion, speakers explored key themes including professional achievement, leadership, and the evolving impact of artificial intelligence on architectural practice. Wai Tang emphasised that “The Collective Polymath” remains an ongoing exploration, requiring continued development over the next decade.

On leadership and advocacy, Tang acknowledged the importance of mentorship throughout his career and noted that the RIBA Fellowship provides a platform to support and guide future generations.

The discussion also highlighted the profession’s need to adapt to a rapidly changing technological landscape. AI was described as a transformative force—requiring architects to develop critical skills in navigating and curating vast amounts of information to support design decision-making.





The forum concluded with a strong emphasis on mentorship and education, underscoring the responsibility of current practitioners to equip emerging talent with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in an AI-driven future.
