QUAD is honoured to be awarded two Honorable Mentions in 2020 Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) – The Living Spline for Large Scale Landscape Category and Suining 1958 Cultural District for Restoration & Renovation Category.
The Living SplineThe Living Spline, Central Park of Yibin High Speed Rail City, is located in Yibin, China. The 1km-long central park covers 76,500sqm of land that includes public plazas, sports facilities, botanical gardens and performance space. The urban green spline connects the rail station and the nature by a series of walkways, cycle lanes and bridges, the visitors will be able to travel around the park and its surrounding plots freely without any barriers. All the plantations and functional elements intertwined with pedestrian systems, creating a multi-dimensional landscape that becomes the confluent point of all the urban living elements in the new city. Suining 1958 Cultural DistrictLocated in Sichuan, the project covers over 75,000sqm. Integrating Suining traditional culture and collective memories with needs, art, culture, commercial and entertainment elements are injected into the historical building to create a modern public space. It is estimated to be completed in early 2021 to provide a new cultural destination to Suining. Read more
