Marcin Klocek is the Associate Director& Head of BIM of QUAD studio and has 25 years of experience in Architecture and Digital Design and over 15 years of experience in BIM Management and Digital Transformation of Design and Project Management. Marcin received his Master of Architecture from Warsaw University of Technology in Warsaw, Poland. After six years of working in Warsaw as an architect for residential and commercial projects and as a Managing Director of a German company designing hotel interiors, he arrived to Hong Kong to continue his architectural career with strong focus on BIM, digital and parametric design.

Complex Geometries

In Hong Kong, as MTR Senior BIM Manager, Marcin was recently involved in digitalization and management of some of the major megaprojects undertaken by MTR Corporation including Tuen Mun South Extension (TME), Tung Chung Line Extension (TUE) and a BIM / CDE pilot project of Ma Chai Hang Recreation Ground. Prior to this he was instrumental in design development, detail design and form optimization of West Kowloon Terminus Entrance Building – one of the most geometrically complex buildings in Hong Kong.

Leading
His experience further includes standardizing and preparing full BIM statutory submissions for HK Building Department, BIM and CDE standards and workflows for various Hong Kong clients, design of schools in Hong Kong, master planning and design of luxury residential properties in Indonesia and China. He worked on office and mixed-use projects in Dubai and Singapore as well. In his extensive career Marcin also contributed to education as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and to public service as a Chairman of Construction Industry Council (CIC) Task Group on BIM Specifications. He talked on various conferences and public presentations for construction industry, like Autodesk University in US, AIAB Conference in HK or Revit Technology Conference (RTC) in Singapore. With BIM and CDE methodologies Marcin become one of the leading experts in application of these methods in Hong Kong.
